Why Buy Car When You Can Rent Cheap and Conveniently: Smove

If you have ever rented a car from those traditional car rental company, it was probably a painful experience. From having to pay a huge deposit to going down to their location to collect the car and long locked-in period, this is not what people want to be burdened with when using a car for short term. Fortunately, there was a group of people who probably felt so much pain from it as well and had the entrepreneur bug within them that led to the birth of "Smove".


Personally at home, we have a family car that is shared among me and my brothers. I also like that they have many locations for you to pick up the car and the best part is that for returning of the car, it can be at a different drop off point. The timings available for using Smove is also great as it is 24/7. Use or return the car in the middle of the night or anytime of the day. No restrictions at all. You also do not need to meet anyone to get the car key as you simply register your own ez link card which becomes the car key. Tap it against the reader of the front screen on the car to lock or unlock it. It just like tapping your ez link card at the gantry but this one unlock the car instead.

Step 2: Once registered with Smove, provide all the documents and input all the necessary information such as your credit/debit card details and CAN number which the card will be used as your car key

Step 3: Once all is done and you are ready to book, go to the website and pick the date and time of pickup as well as drop off date and time

Step 4: 15mins before pick up time, you will receive a sms of the car plate and exact location of the car.

Step 5: Unlock the car and inspect the interior and exterior for anything that might make you liable for damage. Upload pictures of the damages into the website if necessary. Do take pictures of the car on all sides for safe-keeping purposes

Step 6: Once all checks are done, you are good to go in driving the car.

Step 7: 1 hour before the expiry of your usage, you will receive an alert to remind you of your end time

Step 8: Return the car punctually if you do not want to get penalized and pay extra for exceeding the time limit

Step 9: Remember to check the car thoroughly and take everything with you before going to the website to end your trip

Step 10: Few days later, you can login to Smove website to see how much it is for the rental and petrol cost that you paid.
