5 Reasons to get Standard Chartered Unlimited Cashback Credit Card

There are three types of reward for using credit cards which are cashback, points and miles. Personally, I prefer cashback as it allows me to directly calculate the benefits that i am getting. If it is points or miles, it means there is obligation to redeem stuff that i might not want or need.

Most credit cards in the market today offer cashback with cap on the cashback that you can earn until recently when Standard Chartered came up with the Unlimited Cashback Credit Card. American Express also came up with The American Express True Cashback Card which is slightly similar but I personally feel that Standard Chartered Unlimited Cashback Credit Card has an edge as it offers more benefits to the market. I myself will be getting it quite soon and below are 5 reasons which I convinced myself to get the Standard Chartered Unlimited Cashback Credit Card.


Reason 1: 1.5% Cashback on all Spending, no minimum spending
Spending on your credit card require some strategies to get the maximum benefits. You should be spending on the credit cards that have minimum spending and try to spend on the card such that you get the maximum cashback amount. Once the maximum cashback is achieved, you can proceed to spend on the SCB Unlimited Cashback Credit Card as there is no minimum spending involved and you are at least earning a decent cashback rate of 1.5% For me, I have the DBS Livefresh Credit Card that gives maximum cashback of $70. Once I hit the spending required to get the $70 cashback on the DBS Livefresh Credit Card, I will then channel all my spending to the SCB Unlimited Cashback Credit Card.

Reason 2: 3% cashback on all foreign currency spend (Till 30 June 2017)
For me, the website that I shop alot on is Aliexpress that charges in foreign currency. So the 3% cashback will be good to have for my spending on Aliexpress. If you are going to be overseas soon, then you should apply for the card and use it overseas to earn 3% Cashback.

Do you know that you can be rewarded cash for signing up for credit cards? This website Finty is now offering you $20 for signing up for SCB Unlimited Cashback Credit Card via their website.

Reason 5: 20% Cashback on Uber Fares capped at $50 per month
Now days, using Uber has made it so convenient for travelling. Simply use the app to make the booking plus the various voucher code out there makes travelling on uber so much cheaper. Having this additional benefits of 20% cashback on uber fares is simply adding the icing to the cake.

I will probably be applying for this credit card quite soon to use it as a back up for my spending. So that whenever there are months which I have hit the cap for my DBS LiveFresh credit card, the next card to use will be this Standard Chartered Unlimited Cashback Credit Card.
