Mention the word "EZ-Link" and most likely you will be thinking about our Public Transport Buses and Mass Rapid Transit (MRT). However, did you know that besides using the EZ-Link card for taking public transport, you can also use it to pay for other things as well?

Actually, the main reason for writing this blog post is to share about their mobile app which they recently developed. And I felt that it has alot of value to offer to consumers like me and you. Cause good things must share with everyone right???
The first key feature of the mobile app is that you can see all your past transactions within the mobile app easily. This makes it easy for me to find out what have all my money gone to. And also allows me to find out what is the actual amount that I have spent especially on public transport. If I am going to be traveling to work, I will definitely want to know which route is the cheapest and fastest. For eg, if taking an alternative route can save you $0.10, imagine how much you would have saved after 10 years. It is a whooping $520!!
The next key feature of the EZ-Link mobile app is the convenience of being able to top up your EZ-Link card via NFC with your phone. So instead of having to queue up at the top-up stations whenever the value in your EZ-Link card is low, you can do it anywhere and anytime with the EZ-Link mobile app. The only caveat is that your phone needs to have NFC function to do the top-up to the EZ-Link card.
I personally like this next feature of the EZ-Link app which is Card Blocking. What makes it cool about this feature is that in the past, if you lost your EZ-Link card, you can also say bye bye to the value inside the card as well. Fast forward to today, even if you lost your EZ-Link card, the value stored inside the card does not get lost as well. What you need to do to recover the money stored inside the EZ-Link card is simply "Block" the card. Even if someone took your card, they will not be able to utilize the value inside as the EZ-Link card is "blocked" for usage.
This last feature which to me is the main highlight is the ability to earn reward points for spending with the EZ-Link Card. It is like getting paid to spend, similar to credit cards. Just that for something that you spend everyday like public transport, you get rewarded as well. How can such good deal even exists!! With the EZ-Link points, you can use it to redeem rewards such as discounts, vouchers, EZ-Link card and much more!!
